Rheumatoid Arthritis Causes
Rheumatoid Arthritis Causes?
Rheumatoid Arthritis (Ra) is understood to be an autoimmune condition which causes the body’s immune system to wage war against itself. These attacks happen especially in the area of the joints, where it attacks tissues and linings around the joints.
In normal circumstances the immune system will protect the body by producing anti-bodies which naturally attack foreign cells that may have found their way into the body and so protecting the body from infections. The reason Ra does this has not been discovered yet, but logically one would suspect that the mechanism which controls the anti-bodies gets it wrong.
Rheumatoid Arthritis Causes are believed to be some of the following:-
- Genes (inherited from your parents)
Some genes have been identified which can increase the risk for rheumatoid arthritis this coupled with certain environmental factors (like inflections or viruses) could be responsible for triggering rheumatoid arthritis in susceptible individuals.
Although Rheumatoid Arthritis shares some symptoms with Osteoarthritis Rheumatoid Arthritis can attack at any age it can be rapid in its appearance and may be attended by other symptoms, such as fatigue.
Rheumatoid Arthritis Causes are not always consistent in who and how long the attacks last.
- People do get Rheumatoid Arthritis which only lasts at a few months and it then can go away without causing any damage to the joints or surrounding tissues.
- Others have times where it flares up and the symptoms get worse and then they go through periods of remission.
- Unfortunately there are also a small number of people where it can last for many years and this constant attack by the immune system can cause serious damage which can be extremely debilitated or even disabling.
